The recent acquisition of Audi by Porsche meant Lamborghini were presented with a question - should they develop a luxury SUV Lamborghini? To gauge this, our work with Lamborghini's President Stephan Winkelmann was to understand the dynamics, advocates, touch points and perceptions of the luxury SUV and super sports car market in North America, Western and Eastern Europe, Middle East, Asia Pacific and the Far East. Through over 40 in-depth interviews with drivers, intense desk and visual research and expert interviews we delivered a strategic insight report that allowed Lamborghini to think, develop and act towards the demands their drivers have in each market. With this insight, Lamborghini could then begin to envisage how best to tackle their super car competitors by distilling what has changed within these markets, who exactly is buying these luxury SUVs and super sports cars, where and why they buy them and what they expect from Lamborghini.
