American Express 21st Centurion Living Report

In 2006, The Future Laboratory was commissioned by American Express to undertake a global overview of the state of the luxury industry and to deliver a report that would reveal the future of luxury. 100 interviews with luxury experts were conducted across four market sectors: fashion food, design architecture; key business strategists, designers, architects and creatives, renowned for their lifestyle knowledge. Global thought leaders at the forefront of this panel included Giorgio Armani, Heston Blumenthal, Jurgen Bey, Alexander McQueen, Ian Schrager and Marcel Wanders. 21st Centurion Living examined the evolving cycles of luxury and how definitions are changing. It identified key trends in the future of design, fashion, food and travel, and concluded by exploring the future of luxury itself.
